Marie Louise practises in civil and commercial law. She has particular expertise in claims with an international element where she can use her knowledge of EU law and private international law. She is regularly instructed in cases involving jurisdiction and choice of law disputes. She is recommended in the Legal 500 for cases with European law features.

She acted for the successful party in Jacobs v MIB [2010] EWHC 231 (QB), the first decision of a UK court on the new Rome II Regulation and has recently acted for the successful party in Bacon v Nacional Suita [2010] EWHC 231 (QB), which is the first reasoned decision of any EU court on the temporal scope of Rome II. Apart from her career in Chambers she has taught European law at Cambridge University.
