Employment

Members of the Employment Group have extensive experience of all areas of employment law.

These include the decisions of the Court of Appeal in Bangs v Connex [2005] IRLR 389 (the leading case on delay in promulgation of ET decisions) and Barke v SEETEC (No. 2) [2005] IRLR 633 (where the right of the EAT to request written detail on judgments from the ET was explored).

Scott-Davies v Redgate [2007] ICR 348, tested whether there is a freestanding right to complain that an employer has failed to comply with the statutory dispute resolution procedures.

Members of the Employment Group are instructed by leading law firms, acting for both Claimants and Respondents, as well as by the Treasury Solicitor.  The Group is on the West London Alliance Panel for employment and members act regularly for a number of other local authorities.
