Employment
Members of the Employment Group have extensive experience of all areas of employment law and have been instructed in a number of prominent cases.
These include the decisions of the Court of Appeal in Bangs v Connex [2005] IRLR 389 (the leading case on delay in promulgation of ET decisions) and Barke v SEETEC (No. 2) [2005] IRLR 633 (where the right of the EAT to request written detail on judgments from the ET was explored). Bruce Gardiner was recently instructed in the EAT in Scott-Davies v Redgate [2007] ICR 348, which tested whether there is a freestanding right to complain that an employer has failed to comply with the statutory dispute resolution procedures.
Members of the Employment Group are instructed by many of the leading London law firms, acting for both Claimants and Respondents, as well as by the Treasury Solicitor. The Employment Group is on the West London Alliance Panel for employment work and members regularly act for several other local authorities.
